I Sold Worms. 😂

Red Worms, To Be Exact.

At The Time, I Was Raising Worms For Vermicomposting And Selling Them From My Home In Turlock, California. Eventually, My Little Business Even Made It Onto A California List Of Known Worm Suppliers.

I Hadn't Thought Much About That List In Years.

Then Recently I Wondered:

Could I Actually Find As The Worm Turns Online After All This Time?

Turns Out I Could.

When I turned 50, I made a decision that would quietly change the way I lived my life.

Instead of letting the years blur together, I chose to make each birthday month a fresh start—a time to set goals, try new things, and push myself into experiences I might have otherwise avoided. No pressure to be perfect, no expectation to master everything… just a commitment to try.

That simple promise became a tradition.

Life has a funny way of circling back on itself. Just when you think you’ve entered a new phase—quiet house, fewer responsibilities, a little more time to yourself—something shifts. More and more, we’re seeing adult kids moving back home. Sometimes it’s planned, sometimes it’s sudden, and sometimes it’s just the way life unfolds.

I have over 150 cookbooks, and if you walked into my kitchen, you might assume I’m constantly cooking elaborate meals straight from their pages. The truth? I rarely follow the recipes.

And yet, I wouldn’t give up a single one.
